Portion Distortion

When your eyes deceive you! Over the years, the size of our dinner plates and glassware has crept up – and so has our portion size to fill the space!


Try these tips if you’re wanting to take control of your portion size this year:

Use smaller plates when dishing up meals; you could literally eat half the amount of what you’d dish up on a bigger plate!

When it comes to water, drink from a large wide glass, rather than a narrow tall glass. You are likely to drink more and faster. When it comes to alcohol, the opposite applies!  You’ll drink slower from a taller, slimmer wine glass, and (maybe?!) slightly be less inclined to fill it up.
