Oasis Food Pods

If you have recently purchased one of the fantastic Oasis Food Pods - here is a little video on how to get the very best out of your new pod and ensure that your food is nice and warm when you tuck in!

Tips on keeping your food warm:

  • Fill the pod with boiling water and put the lid on for 5-10 minutes before pouring the water out and adding your food.

  • Your food needs to be VERY hot when it goes in, so hot you couldn’t eat it at the point you put it into the pod.

  • It works best when there is some liquid in the pod as this helps keep the food warm - a super-hot casserole or soup for example stays warmer for much longer than pasta without a sauce which doesn’t really have much moisture to maintain the heat as well.

  • The manufacturers say that the pod can keep food warm for up to 6 hours, so… the closer to leaving the house you put food in your pod, the better. They aren’t designed to keep food warm for longer than 6 hours at most.

Tips on keeping your food cold:

  • You can either put your food pod in the freezer for approx. 10-15 minutes or in the fridge for as long as you like before adding your food to help keep it extra cold. Alternatively, you can put food in your food pod then pop it in the freezer for a bit or in the fridge for an hour or so then take it out when you are ready.

Extra tips to get the best from your food pod:

  • The rubber seal can be gently removed, washed and dried then you can pop it back on. We don’t stock replacement seals so best to be as gentle as possible.

  • It is recommended you handwash your food pod with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, then dry. Please avoid immersing the lid in water or putting the lid in the dishwasher, as can water can get inside. Rather than immersing the lid in water, you can just wipe it with a damp cloth and detergent. If you do immerse the lid or put it in the dishwater and water gets in it, it will still work fine but we will not be able to replace it as this can be avoided when washed correctly. We don’t recommended taking the pod lid apart, again we won’t be able to replace it if you can’t put it back together again as it is not designed to be dismantled.
