Things I've learnt this month: April!
🐝 HONEYBEES have to visit about two million flowers and fly 80,000km to make one pound (454 g) of honey 🍯 (Ca Honey Council)
🌏 The average HUMAN LIFESPAN is approximately 4,000 weeks. “Recognising this finitude can motivate us to prioritise what truly matters” Oliver Burkeman (Book: Time management for Mortals)
📱 On average SMARTPHONE USERS interact with their device an average of 85 times a day and 46 percent say they couldn’t live without it. (Journal of Consumer Research)
🧠 “ANXIETY is the intolerance of uncertainty.” I heard this powerful definition from psychotherapist Owen O’Kane this week, and it really resonated with me. Life can feel incredibly uncertain - and in today’s fast-paced world, more so than ever 🌪️💭.
🕯️ The first known suggestion of DAYLIGHT SAVING came from Parisian Benjamin Franklin in 1784. He believed it would help save candle wax - which was expensive - by encouraging people to make better use of the morning light ☀️
💉 It’s estimated that 12% of adults in the United States have tried OZEMPIC or similar medications. That actually blew my mind when I read it. While drugs like this can have their place, this stat is crazy!
What have you learnt this month? 🤔
